Jenny Jones has become the first Brit to win a gold medal in the slopestyle at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado
28-year-old Jones claimed victory in her final run when she landed a huge frontside 720 over the 80ft kicker.
She said: “My first run was sketchy, my second run I cleaned it up, so it looked better and I felt happy with the run.
“It wasn’t enough, as I was still in second by about three points. So I just had to go for it on the last run and did a 720 over the last jump.
“I was so pleased to win and suddenly the emotions went crazy and I had to try hard not to cry. It means so much to me to win an X Games medal and to win gold is the icing on the cake.”
