August - all’s well that ends well!

Posted by Gabe Davies [Pro Surfer,Snowboarder] on August 25th, 2009

It’s the end of August but it isn’t the end of summer. I’ve just had two epic days of surf and more solid swell is forecast this week. After a few weeks back in the UK, I returned to France to arrive in time for an 8ft ‘La Graviere’ session. I got a couple of bombs and more than enough floggings, before creasing my favourite board. I’ve bust boards in my last two sessions out there, gutted. I’m beginning to hate the destruction effect that ‘La Graviere’ has on my equipment. Its reputation as Europe’s best and heaviest beach break is well deserved. The second day of swell was smaller 4-5ft but scorching hot at 36 degrees with a rare strong offshore wind, which blew all day. If summer stays this good I cant wait for the Autumn which is traditionally the time we score our best waves here in Europe. Bring it on! Cheers, Gabe
