Snowboarder Questionnaire
How old where you when you first began riding?
I think i was About 13 or 14 when i first started but i only went once or twice in my first year.i soon got the bug and started going more often when i was about 15!
What/Who got you into it?
i live in Tamworth so about 10 years ago they built the snowdome there so i used to go and watch my sister skiing. I never had the appeal to go skiing but when i saw people snowboarding i thought it looked wicked so i had some lessons!
What sort of board do you ride?
I ride lib tech snowboards,at the moment i keep switching between the TRS 156 and the Scotty Witlake pro model,i cant decide which one i prefer!
What length board do you ride?
Usually between a 155 if i'm jibbing up to a 160 for powder!
Do you ride Regular or Goofy?
Goofy all the way baby!
Stance width?
Have no idea,i just put my bindings on where they look right!
Stance angles (front and back)?
i think about 21 on my front foot and -3 on my back!
Favourite resort?
Whistler BC,Canada its got it all especially a wicked pie shop!
How many seasons have you done?
about 5 full seasons and 1 half season!
Where and when did you do your seasons?
my first half season was when i went to vail to visit Tim Warwood for 2 months.I wasn't old enough to get a visa to work so i could'nt do the whole season but i did manage to join the british junior team and do junior world champs that year and the following 2 years so it worked out for the best really. The year after i was based in Mayerhofen Austria with Si Brass,Gary Greenshields,Ol Cotton,Charlotte Dutton and Katie young. In 1999/2000 i went to Whistler which i kept as my base for the following 3 seasons but also managed to travel alot to eurpoe and the states during those winters.
What was your favourite trip and why?
probably the fuel 2 trip.we didn't do the most amazing snowboarding but i got to see loads of america that you wouldn't normally see if you were just flying to resorts.we drove over 6000 miles so we saw so much different scenery and got to go to las vegas, which was incredible! i also went on a whitelines trip this season to vermont which again wasn't the best riding but we all met up and started the trip in new york, which was a place that i'd always wanted to go to and the fact that we were tying it in with a snowboard trip made it even better!
What do you love about snowboarding?
everything really,i love the fact that i get to do it with so many good friends that i've made over the years and the whole lifestyle is the most appealing thing really.i feel so lucky that i've travelled to some amazing places through snowboarding aswell.
What's your goal within snowboarding?
i just want to keep improving and would like to stay at the top of the british scene and try to get more coverage on the european scene.

From Adam's Lifestyle & Portrait Gallery.
What aspect of snowboarding gives you the most satisfaction (powder, kickers, halfpipe, competitions, big air, cliff drops, etc.)?
i like every aspect of it but it just depends on what your into at the time. right now i seem to get more stoked on powder and just freeriding than freestyle so i'd like to improve my backcountry riding.
What style of snowboarding best describes your riding (include a couple if you want)?
i'd like to think i was quite solid as an all round rider but i wouldn't really know what style describes me best!
What's your favourite trick?
Cab 360's or just nice big backside 180's,they feel so nice!
What's your scariest snowboarding moment?
probably on the Adidas Team trip in laax in 1999.we built a jump out of the side of a powder face and must have weakend a layer of snow because it suddenly let out a huge basey bang that just made your stomach turn.the whole face moved slightly and it was so close to sliding on all of us but luckily it held and we all clipped in and rode away in abit of a panic!
What are your top safety tips when riding?
just ride at a level that your comfortable at and dont try things that you dont feel your good enough to do. also if going into the backcountry be sure you've got the correct safty equipment, avalanche tranceivers, shovel, etc!
What advice have you got?
dont be in a rush to get really good, thats when accident happen. just enjoy your snowboarding and you'll improve without you even knowing it!
Filmmaker Questionnaire
What camera and kit do you use?
i did have a panasonic ds150 which is abit old now and unfortunatly it broke on me a few months ago so i'm in the market for a new one. so if anyone from panasonic, sony etc are reading this i'm your perfect rider to sponsor and give a camera too!!!
When and why did you start filming?
when i spent time in vail the Eldridge brothers used to film everything so it was so good to see yourself ride to help you improve. i just wanted to get a camera to film all the places i went to and its just an essential thing to have and now i feel lost without it!
What is most satisfying type of footage for you to capture on tape?
anything gets me stoked really,if the riding is not amazing but the filming is really nice than i still get a buzz from that. i really like getting something abit different on film, like a new different type of jib or line!
Do you have a favourite line/ trick that you have filmed?
not really. i've got some funny stuff of me and scott mcmorris having our worst day of riding ever in the icy blackcomb park.we couldn't do anything and just kept eating shit all day,it was so frustrating at the time but i couldn't stop laughing at it the other day when i watched it back!
Are you happy to hand over footage to be edited by other people or do you like to play a hand in the post production as well?
i used to give my footage to the eldridges when i didn't know how to edit but now i love to try and do it myself!
What are the pros and cons of filming the sports you do?
the pros are that you know what looks good and what is the best way to film it but it can be annoying when you feel you should film but all you want to do is ride yourself!
Do you prefer filming for sport videos or television?
i havn't really filmed any serious tv stuff yet but i like filming anything,i loved filming our music videos we've made over the season!

From Adam's Lifestyle & Portrait Gallery.
