Ben is a great little guy. If he has an interest in something he amazes me with his quest for perfection and will spend hours making sure that he is happy with the end result. He is a quiet unassuming guy without an ego but is his own man and knows what he wants out of life. He is a good friend and always good company with a wicked sense of humour. Ben has one aim, to be a pro-snowboarder and I'm sure that no one will convince him otherwise. People always say that there is an aura with Ben that makes people want to be around him. I for one am a big fan, still I am his dad.
Time for an update on the above (Aug 2009).
Ben is now 21 and I am proud to say it is a privilege to be his dad. He has developed into a fine young man that any father would be proud of. I admire the way he conducts himself in all walks of life and the dedication and hard work he has put into his chosen sport.

How old where you when you first began riding?
9 years old
What/Who got you into it?
It was a really bad Winters day In the Grampian Region. My dad could not get to work. The road to Glenshee was clear so my mum booked a snowboarding lesson for my dad, my sister and me. We had a great day and I was hooked.
What sort of board do you ride?
I am riding the K2 Slayblade 158, a great Pipe and all round shred stick
What length board do you ride?
158
Do you ride Regular or Goofy?
Regular

27 inch

front +15 back - 10
Favourite resort?
Breckenridge in U.S.A & Mammoth Mountain
How many seasons have you done?
I tend to spend 3 - 4 weeks in different places on the World Cup Circuit.

What was your favourite trip and why?
Groms Ride the Rockies in Colarado. My first time on a real road trip
What do you love about snowboarding?
The freedom and adenalin rush
What's your goal within snowboarding?
2010 Winter Olympics
What aspect of snowboarding gives you the most satisfaction (powder, kickers, halfpipe, competitions, big air, cliff drops, etc.)?
Love all disciplines but I have to say the technicality of pipe riding at the moment.
What style of snowboarding best describes your riding (include a couple if you want)?
Relaxed freestyle riding.
What's your favourite trick?
Frontside 360
What's your scariest snowboarding moment?
Riding off the cliff edge in Chamonix, my dad saved me.
What are your top safety tips when riding?
Wear an helmet, aways speed check and make sure you check out the landing.
What advice have you got?
Always enjoy it. If your not enjoying it, go and do something that you do enjoy.
