I started late at 27.

The air. It\'s good for the soul.
What's your goal within snowboarding?
To keep doing it.
What style of snowboarding best describes your riding (include a couple if you want)?
Dodgy. I\'ve decided I need to up my game, so have booked myself on a couple of freestyle courses. Watch out Jamie Nicholls!
What's your favourite trick?
Landing off a big kicker and not popping my shoulder out. I like that one a lot.
What's your scariest snowboarding moment?
Jumping over a small roller at la Tour and seeing the small cliff drop beyond it. Hit the rocks on the way down and landed in a heap at the bottom. Was quite funny in hindsight.

Surfer Questionnaire

I guess I was 18.
What/Who got you into it?
Simon Hammond, a friend of a friend at university came from Bude, so we used to go down there and surf as much as we could. A long trip from Birmingham. He became the World Surf Kayak champ a few years ago and still lives in Bude, running Shoreline if you\'re interested. Surfing kept a heap of us uni friends in contact for years and three became the God parents to my kids.
What length board do you ride?
Mini mal.

Gul Power 38. I brought this with my first pay packet. It\'s a bit knackered these days and I think it might have shrunk a bit over the years...

Widemouth Bay
Favourite surf spot in the World:
West Coast of France
Have you spent any seasons in one place? If so where?
Well we toured the West Coast of France for a few weeks three years in a row after university in our campers and stripped out coaches. Good times.
What do you love about Surfing?
Being in the water. Mates and good times.
What's your goal within Surfing?
Go more often!
Photographer Questionnaire
How did you get into photography?
It was simply through TheBoarder.co.uk, which started back in April 1997 and now SnowboardClub.co.uk and the need to have some shots to make it look pretty.
What was the best piece of advice anybody ever gave you about photography?
Get the take off in shot. Get the face in shot. Get the grab in the shot. Try to remember who it was and what they were doing! Indoors, the biggest problem is lighting.
What's in your camera bag?
Nikon D70.

About 34. I was a late developer okay.
What/Who got you into it?
I started a little site called TheBoarder.co.uk to learn HTML and thought my recent new sport of snowboarding would be a good subject. I started posting news about the proposed indoor slopes I started hearing about and 7 years later it was Europe\'s most visited snowboarding site. It\'s now Snowboardclub.co.uk of course and owned jointly by Stu Brass, Spencer Claridge and myself.

Snowboard Club UK really just posts up short news pieces or regurgitates press releases.
Favourite trip for a publication?
Air & Style several years back was a goody.
General Questionnaire
What are your other interests?
I\'m just a geek. I work all day and I work all night. Day job is indirectly for the MoD. Evenings I work on Soul Sports (a bit), Snowboard Club (a bit) and increasingly a new project called Seego.co.uk, which launched in June 2007.
Where would you like to see yourself in the future?
Happy and healthy.
Realistically, what will you be doing in the future?
Unhappy about being unhealthy. I work too hard!
Who are your idols?
I have a lot of respect for characters like Johny Ball, David Attenborough and Rolf Harris. They just seem to wide so eyed and enthusiastic about life.
What music are you into?
Marillion (and don\'t even mention Kayleigh as they\'ve had 9+ studio albums since then), Peter Gabriel and a heap of recent stuff, but no big favourites. Actually, truth be known, I only really listen to Marillion. I\'ve got something like 16 hours. You don\'t need anything else. Sad I know.
What's your favourite book?
Anything by Terry Pratchett, Julian May and Iain M Banks.
What's your favourite film?
All 12 hours of the Lord of the Rings.
Best cocktail, shot or drink?
I started drinking beer just a few years ago after years on cider. I don\'t get drunk so quickly now!
