Introduction...
Summed up best by a recent Eurosport commentator, "Steve's done for downhill, what the Egyptian's did for construction..." His never say die approach to racing means he is certainly one of the most respected riders on the downhill racing scene and a British treasure.
After having been taken to a MTB club by an enthusiastic boss, Steve raced his first ever event and won; he’s been pretty much unbeatable ever since. Despite having raced for more than 15 years, winning is a habit that Steve’s not keen on dropping anytime soon, and still makes time to shoot photos and international video sections.
Making good use of his profile, Steve also commits a lot of time to fund-raising for the Weston Park Cancer Appeal, and using his invaluable experience at World Cup level to assist the UK’s emerging talent, which has already produced a Junior World Champion in Josh Bryceland.
Career Highlights:
3 times World Cup Champion.
15 World Cup victories.
8 times British Champion.
Over 35 Front covers.
