It was about 4 years ago, when Wayne turned up at Halifax for the first time; it was obvious from his first lesson that he’d found something he was going to be good at. Ever since then there’s no getting rid of him, he’s part of the furniture now.

Its hard to describe what Wayne’s like as a person… although he’s so chilled to a point that you think he’s going to fall asleep, he’s got a drive to learn and progress that you don’t see from many. He always gives a warm welcome to all the riders that come and go, and you can always guarantee that when a comp is on he’s turned his house into a hotel for the night.

In the last 2 years Wayne has really stepped it up, the re-development of the Halifax slope came at just the right time to help him develop his ever-growing bag of tricks. Wayne’s worked hard to get himself to be a respected part of the dryslope scene; he plays a major role in organising all the Halifax comps, and is always up for trying something ridiculous when a camera is about.

His constant perseverance is now paying off and this year he’s played part in two board tests and is getting recognised as one of the hardest working dryslope riders in the country. Wayne also co-owns Vaper clothing, something else that is helping him get publicity, at every comp going you can see him stickering up slopes and putting the word about. It’s pretty hard to ignore the work he puts in.

Wayne’s focusing on developing his style even further these days, he’s always got a video of himself riding on the TV and watches the same clip over and over trying to learn and improve. It’s paying off and there’s no doubt that over the coming years he’ll be pushing the British dryslope scene even further.
